Reading List

In the NASA ESAS (which I've been plowing through all weekend) there's an interesting statement on page 89 of the Lunar Architecture chapter...

The team established a "required reading" list of documents...

Where's the required reading list for a Project Manager? Is it the PMBOK® Guide? If so, there is no bibliography. Interesting that the "guide" to the project management body of knowledge provides no guidance to the literature supporting that very BOK.

Addendum

I mis-spoke there are references in the PMBOK® Guide.

  1. The American Heritage Dictionary
  2. International Organization for Standardization / International Electromechanical Commission (ISO/IEC) Guide 2.
  3. The Handbook of Project-Based Management, Rodney Turner, 1992
  4. Decision Support System for R&D Project Selection and Resource Allocation Under Uncertainty, Given, Project Management Journal, 24(4), 1993
  5. American Society of Quality
  6. ISO 8402, Quality Management and Quality Assurance, 1994

That's it. A dictionary, two ISO standards, a PMI Journal Paper and a Handbook. All dated in the early 90's for a 2004 guide.
