Science and Pseudo-Science
The urban myth going around the office is that an egg can be stood on its end two times a year, at the equinox. The equinox of course is when there is equal light and dark and as nothing to do with gravity and egg standing tricks.
While looking on the web for "myth buster" articles for my colleagues, I was reminded of some long ago experiences. While a graduate study I was privileged to be in the presence of two icons of the physics world. Our principle investigator Fred Reines and a frequent visitor Richard Feynman.
Here's some videos of Feynman, that provide insight into one of the 20th century's best thinkers. Listen to the thought processes and the development of understanding in the presence of mystery.
