I've started some research on Capabilities Based Planning (see previous posts) and come across an enterprise reference model for agility. There are some interesting definitions of agility in this area:
- Agility is the ability to maintain competitiveness in firms, while the turbulence of their environments passes their speed and adaptation. (La lettre agile, Number 1, September 1998 Frederic Frery, Ecole Superieure de Commerce, Paris)
- An agile firm is fit and able to change and shows proof of the competence to provoke, take on and manage with success the changes in the important and competitive practice of business in their sector. (An Agile Enterprise Reference Model with a Case Study of Remmele Engineering,An Agility Forum Project, December 1996 – AR96-04, Rick Dove, Paradigm Shift International,et Co)
The Agile Enterprise Reference Model mentioned in the last bullet is a good place to look for a case study of applying the principles of the Declaration of Interdependence.
Here's a starting point for a broader discussion of Agile Project Management
