Pics just in from the Moab Lance Armstrong Foundation ride in early March. My partner here is the local MSFT sales guy - Tad. He's not behind because I'm ahead. He's just trying to stay warm along with the rest of us. The day started at 8:00 at 17 degrees F.!! We were just coming out of the shade, after an hour riding along the base of a canyon wall that follows the Colorado River, east of town. The descent back to Moab was just as cold. More pics on the way of Sunday's ride to Dead Horse Point, that over looks the Green River, west of Moab. Warmer by 10 degress at the start. Nothing but climbing that day, so warmth came fast. Then the descent again to a freezing parking lot. Tad has a nice Garmin GPS mapping computer which told us there were 10 degree grade sections to keep us warm going to the top and cold coming down. The smiles were for the camera. At this point toes and fingers are frozen in position along with the water in the bottles.
