Elephant Rock is the first big ride of the season. It was a beautiful Colorado day, blue skies, cool, and not much wind, until the end.
Didn't have good training weather in March and April, so the last 15 miles was mostly uphill and into the wind (of course) and pretty much "nasty." We're looking good here, but still a long haul to the finish. Don't know who the lady is on the right, but our son Alex, with the Western State Cycling team jersey, rode his fixed gear the whole route without braking once. Alex dropped the olde guys on his right after this little climb at the next right turn over Tomah Pass.
Dave, on the left, is one of our over 50 mens group members.
Next week is the Sunrise Century course and video fly over...
We'll see about the route when we get to the decision point. Maybe in the best of agile paradigm, we'll have late emerging requirements and decide to go down Left Hand Canyon through Ward and forget the 100.
