Performance Management shows that applying EV beyond just the required compliance guidance. One interesting measure was the 19% average margin using EVM versus 11% margin for firms non using EVM. For A&D firms using EVM, they reported a 5% higher margin. The biggest benefit came from consulting services using EVM, with a 16% higher margin.
Classic PM processes like PMBOK lead the way in 70% of the firms. More sophisticated metrics like DCMA 14 point assessments reported higher profitability.
