When we hear about software development methods, it's critical to understand in what domain they are applicable. Here's an analogy for that question. Without an answer to this question there is no basis for comparing units of measure. What might be a wonderful approach in one domain would be unusable in another - this is the case for all the examples.
A solo or 3 team project with a customer in the same building would never apply DOD 5000.02, FAR 34.2 Earned Value flow downs. Building the flight avionics to fly to ISS would never use #NoEstimates and emergent requirements on a weekly basis for a 200 person development team spread across the United States.
So before any conversation - beyond shared ancedotes and asking audiences to think about it, because I can't tell you what to do - can take palce, we need to establish the domain, the value at risk, and the governance model applied to our work. Then we can talk about shared ideas.
