At the end of the day all the work we do is about converting money into something of value. For that value to have value to those paying , we need to provide beneficial outcomes at time they can be put to use and for a cost that is less than the value they produce. Since all our project work is based on managing in the presence of uncertainty we need the ability to make decisions based on estimates. Since the future is emerging in front of us and the past is not likely to be representative of this future.
Failure to release this means a disconnection between cost and value.
