These principles are the microeconomics of decision making in the presence of uncertainty, and the managerial finance processes around making those decisions to maximize the performance of the firm paying for the development of the software. These principles are ignored by conjecturing decision can be made without estimating the impact of the decisions on the success of the projects funded by the firm.
